How much is a portrait sitting?

A sitting can last up to one hour depending on the willingness and co-operation of the subjects! The cost of a sitting lasting up to one hour in the studio is £45.00. During the session you can have a variety of groupings, poses and even change of outfits if you wish.

Can we book a sitting in our own home?

A portrait session can be arranged in your own home if you wish. Chris will bring portable lighting if required, but a studio type backdrop will NOT be set up as it is usually impractical, and often impossible, to move furniture to make enough space. Your living room or garden will be the backdrop! The minimum charge for a home portrait is £200.00* which must be paid in full at time of booking. *The home portrait fee includes a £100.00 credit towards your first order.

How many pictures will you take?

There is no set number of photos taken on a portrait sitting. Chris will take a variety of shots which will be discussed prior to the shoot. The actual number of photos taken can often be determined by the willingness of subjects to co-operate, within the allocated time!! (think..... 2 year-olds and teenagers!!)

What should we wear?

It depends on the style of portrait you want. Most of our portraits are shot in a casual, relaxed style which is best suited to chinos, jeans, casual shirts etc. Plain-ish clothing is preferred. Items to avoid are bold patterns, stripes or spots. Strong flowery designs may currently be in fashion but will very quickly date your portrait and are also very dominating in a picture.

Can we have Black & White?

Any image may be printed in Colour, Black & White or Sepia - at no extra cost.

How will we see the images after the portrait sitting?

The images are usually ready to view within 3-5 days of the sitting. They are projected onto a large screen in the studio so a number of people can view together. The images can be shown in different sizes so you can visualise how they look in various frames. The viewing software allows us to put together triples and other multiple sets. Comparing colour and black & white, side-by-side, is another popular feature. We encourage you to bring anyone who might like a photo to the initial viewing to take advantage of "1st viewing Special Offers".

Can we arrange a 2nd viewing for relatives?

Additional viewings may be arranged at an additional cost of £50.00. This fee will be deducted from any orders placed at the viewing, but it must be paid at time of arranging the appointment.

Will our images be on the Internet?

Portraits are not normally put online for viewing as it is not possible to show all the different options available or discuss selective cropping/frames etc. In exceptional circumstances, a shortlist of images may be put online, perhaps if some of the family live a long distance away, once the initial viewing has taken place. There is an upload charge for this service.

Can we buy digital images on a CD?

High-resolution digital files may be purchased on CD £35.00 per image with a minimum order of 15 images on each CD ordered. Commercial clients requiring images digitally, please contact us for details/rates.
